Marbella Weather

The Costa del Sol when translated into English means “The Coast of Sun,” which is exactly what it is, a coast offering the most magnificent weather all year round. It has one of the most reliable and healthiest of climates boasting 320 days of glorious sunshine in a year.

The winters are mild with average temperatures of 17 degrees. There can be some rainy days and when the rain in Spain falls, it really does. The heavens open with huge downpours but the good news is, they don’t usually last as unstable weather tends to linger for no more than a few days at a time.

During Spring and Autumn the weather is simply gorgeous, with average temperatures hovering around the 20 degrees mark and hotter in the sun. The intense heat of the summer tends to peak in July and August reaching temperatures of approximately 30 + degrees.

Balmy summer evenings on the Costa del Sol are divine with wonderfully warm temperatures, so much so, as the sun sets on this golden coast, everyone comes out to play, enjoying the great nightlife on offer. Many Spaniards, after taking an afternoon siesta, go to the beach just as the sun goes down and there they remain for hours, eating and drinking and enjoying the good life.

It is unlikely that it will rain during July and August but if it does, it is normally a short, sharp, shower during the night or early hours of the morning. Situated across the water from North Africa, Costa del Sol offers the perfect Mediterranean climate.
